Jamborees

This weekend, all teams will play in Jamborees.  The Varsity plays at Palmer High on Friday and Saturday. 
The JV will be at Colony High on Saturday morning. 
The Cteam will be at Wasilla High on Saturday morning. 

Your coach will give you a more defined schedule later this week.

Tryout Information

Tryouts are just around the corner.  Below you'll find all the information you need.  Keep in mind, this is tryout information for Palmer High School tryouts, but if you go to a different school within the district, you will likely need the same paperwork filled out, and the dates will be the same, but you'll need to check with your school for the times.

Tryout Dates:
August 12,13,14 @ PHS

Times: 
Freshman:  4-6
Soph/Junior/Senior:  6-8

Paperwork and Forms to Fill out:
Click Here to download the paperwork, or visit Palmer High School between 8-3, Monday-Friday to pick up a packet.  Bring your completed packet with you to the first day of tryouts.

Fill out the entire packet.  Most of this form should be filled out by you and you parent.  (Be sure to complete the "insured by" space on the 2nd page.  FYI, if you don't, you'll end up getting the paperwork back with that section highlighted and you'll be asked to fill it out at that time.  Let's spare that step this year. :)   Page 4 should be filled out by your family doctor. 

Play for Keeps Video - Click the link and you'll be directed to the Play For Keeps website, scroll to the bottom and you'll see a paragraph explaining the video.  You need to watch the orientation video with your parents.  Then, when it's over, click the acknowledgment form below the video and sign it.  (The video is 5 min, 20sec long)

You'll need to bring $150 sports fee.  Checks can be made out to Palmer High School.  If you qualify for free or reduced lunch, your sports fee may be reduced to $75, see the front office.

What should you bring?
Make sure you bring your paperwork and money, if you haven't turned it in already.   Show up 15 minutes early to get it all turned in.  Bring your volleyball stuff and remember a water bottle.  (The water fountain water will not be any good.)

Open Gyms

Open Gyms will be held on August 7th and 9th.  6:00-8:00  @ PHS

Open Gyms are not required.  They are an opportunity for you to play a little volleyball before the season starts.  They're meant to be fun and enjoyable.  Expect to play a lot!

First day of Summer Camp...

First day is Wednesday, May 29. 

Bring your money and paperwork to the first day of camp! (If you haven't turned it in already!)

Younger group (If you are entering 9th grade or younger)  is 3:00-5:00  at PJMS
Older group (If you are entering 10th grade or older)   is 5:00-7:00  at PJMS

Summer Camp Countdown - 10 days!

It's nearly time for the summer camp to start!  Who hasn't signed up yet?  Both groups are almost full.  If you hurry, you might be able to sneak into one of the final spots.

Summer Volleyball Camp

Volleyball Summer Session

Hosted by Palmer High School Volleyball

This summer we will, once again, be offering an opportunity for local players to work on their volleyball skills in a setting similar to Midnight Sun's Skill School.

We will be focused on improving players specifically in the positions they play, as well as refining, and advancing individual skill.  Practices will consist of drills and skill work with plenty of technical feedback.  

This camp meets once a week during June and July.  Camp sessions will be held at thePalmer Middle School Gym, and occasionally at the AT&T Center.

There will be two groups, one for advanced players, and one for players with less experience. Group 1 (less experienced) will meet Wednesday afternoons from 3:00 -5:00PM.  Group 2 (advanced) will meet Wednesday evenings from 5:00-7:00PM. We plan tomeet 8 times, however we are still working on finalizing the exact dates and times so there may be slight changes made later.  A more accurate schedule will be available later this spring.

Coaches will include:  Steve Reynolds, Jayme Dehart, and a wide variety of others with first hand knowledge of the skills needed to take your game to the next level.  

The cost is $125.  Payment details will follow - no payment is necessary right now.
